Troubleshooter

Modern day cars and trucks are complex pieces of equipment which require regular maintenance and service to keep them operating at their best. That's why, when something goes wrong with your car or truck, you want to make sure that it is serviced by the best.

The experts at Mississauga Auto Repairs are trained to diagnose and repair your vehicle quickly and accurately. The following is a short list of common problems and solutions that we see and repair on a daily basis:

Brakes

My brakes make a hissing noise when I press the brake pedal! That noise may be your wear indicator letting you know your brake pad is low and brake repair is needed soon.

My brakes make a grinding noise when I press the pedal! That noise may be the result of your worn out pad's metal backing, grinding on your rotor causing more damage to your brakes. Brake repair is needed ASAP.

My brake pedal will occasionally fade or feel soft, possibly going all the way to floor. This could be a defective master cylinder. Brake repair is needed ASAP.

My brake pedal is very stiff, similar to when the engine is off. This could be a defective power booster. Brake repair is needed ASAP.

I was told my brake fluid reservoir is low. This could be the result of normal brake wear. If the reservoir is extremely low or appears empty, it could be from a leak in any part of the brake's hydraulic system. A brake inspection is needed ASAP.

When I brake, the brake pedal and/or the car pulsates. This in an indication that your rotors or drums are out of round or not perfectly round. Resurfacing or replacement can fix the problem.

Starting problems

My car was running fine, it just will not start now. The heat is tough on batteries. Your car may start fine one time, and then fail to start the very next time. We see this a lot... the car's battery and charging sytem fail in the emence heat of the Ontario summer. Have both your battery and charging system checked.

My car starts and stalls, or turns over but will not start. Could be a dirty fuel filter or faulty fuel pump. Have it checked out or changed by a professional.

Steering and handling

My car pulls to one side of the road. This could be a simple fix. Start by checking and adjusting the air pressure in the tires and inspecting the tire for uneven tire wear. It also could be the result of worn out tie rod ends. The front end has many parts that can wear out, and a front end alignment would be the best start to correct the problem.

My car bounces a lot. Your shocks or struts are probably worn out. Have them inspected ASAP.

My car vibrates on the highway. It could be as simple as a tire balance problem. Having your tires balanced is a routine and inexpensive fix. CV AXEL

I noticed grease on the inside of the fender. This is probably from a torn CV Boot. If replaced soon enough, a new CV Boot may be all that is necessary.

When making turns in a parking lot, I hear a clicking noise. That means the CV axel needs to be replaced ASAP.
